The use of electronic devices is now prohibited | My view from 39F

I recently traveled to Ohio for a wedding and decided it would be fun to document all the different things I saw from my little window. From SEA to ATL with a weather detour to BNA(Nashville), then on to DAY, returning via ORD and SFO. Enjoy!

Why I bought an iPad

I’m not a techie, or a geek, or a gadget junkie.  I don’t own an iPhone and I just joined Twitter seven days ago. That’s why it may seem strange that I bought an iPad the day it was released.
I have loved my Mac for eight long years and it has truly been a workhorse [...]

Directly Overhead Project

A continuation of my directly overhead project where I photograph random things I find over my head. These are mostly from a trip to Olympia, Wa.

Fueled by PhotoShelter

A former newspaper photojournalist, I am now freelancing and shooting weddings. By keeping a foot in the journalism world I quickly found that my editorial site wouldn’t cut it for brides and their mothers. Soon, I found myself with two websites, a blog and a PhotoShelter archive. Navigation was a nightmare.
I have now seamlessly [...]

From the archives | Texas Longhorns and lambs

Searching my archives today I came across some fun photos from my time working in Texas.  I will never forget Fayette Yates. Yates was a third generation rancher who owned the largest collection of Texas Longhorn horns in the world. The collection includes horns, taxidermied heads and entire taxidermied longhorn cattle. He kept the collection [...]

Directly Overhead Project

What is directly over your head right now?  Go ahead…look up.  You might be surprised.  These are a few images from an overhead project I started a few months ago. I’m quickly finding that most things overhead are blue or yellow in nature.  Yay for blue skies and florescent lights!  Enjoy and come back often [...]

48 Hours at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics

We were incredibly lucky to have been given tickets to Ice Dancing by a friend who couldn’t use them.  Only problem was that I didn’t have my passport back yet.  Luckily it came in the mail Friday, we left Sunday and were sitting nine rows from the ice on Monday.  It was so amazing to [...]

Space Needle

We took a walk around Seattle Center the other day and I shot this image of the Space Needle reflected on the exterior of the Science Fiction Museum building. The building itself is a work of art, designed by Frank O. Gehry. It’s my new favorite photo of the Space Needle!

Fun Time Exposure

I shot this time exposure outside the Palace Ballroom during a wedding reception in downtown Seattle last night.  I thought it was fun enough to share.  Enjoy!

DIY wedding invitations – Fall themed

Now that our invitations have been mailed I thought it might be nice to give a little information on how we made them.

First, have a plan when you walk in to the paper store. There are so many choices, not to mention ribbon, sickers, stamps and glitter, that it’s easy to get overwhelmed. [...]

Brides Against Breast Cancer

Fellow photographer Niki Desautels and I volunteered this weekend at the Brides Against Breast Cancer dress sale in Bellevue, Washington. This is an incredible organization who takes in donations of wedding gowns, whether they be donated sample gowns from boutiques or donated from individuals, and sells them at reduced prices to new brides. [...]

Proposal and surprise trip to Hawai’i

Now I can really relate to all my wedding clients.  My boyfriend of eight years proposed to me on my birthday and as if that weren’t enough, told me we were going to Hawai’i for a week!  It was an awesome proposal which took me on a scavenger hunt of sorts all over town for [...]

Lake Michigan wedding

We made a short week-long trip to Michigan for a family wedding on the shores of Lake Michigan. The weather was amazing. I got some much needed vitamin D from all the sun and we got to visit with both sides of the family. A couple photos from the week.
